As ‘Stompin Tom Connors’ once sang: “the good ol’ hockey game, is the best game you can name, and the best game you can name, is the good ol’ hockey game” …and we couldn’t agree more! Which is why we wanted to share ‘The Benefit of Putting Your Child in Canada’s National Sport’.
Hockey and the Sport of Skating
Aside from hockey training, learning to skate is a worthwhile activity for cardiovascular endurance, balance and flexibility, increasing confidence, and making friends in a positive environment. Which is why we offer: ‘LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY FOR TOTS’ (click to find out more)!
Gaining an Appreciation for an Active Lifestyle
Getting kids up and moving is always a worthwhile thing to do. In a world where a lot of life revolves around technology in this day and age, keeping your kids participating in an active lifestyle will be a positive lifelong habit formed early.
The Important Skill of Goal-Setting
Setting goals and making goals is a very separate thing, but nearly everyone requires one in order to gain the other. Setting goals in the pursuit of excellence will play a big role in achieving those goals; regardless of if it’s figuratively speaking or literally speaking, making a goal required mindset first and skill set second!
Sports and Stress Management
Hockey is a fun sport, but it is also intended to be a competitive, requiring the ability to manage stress and perform under pressure without allowing emotions or physical limitations to get in the way. Although we of course train at various levels, encouraging children, teenagers and adults differently, there will be stress management skills built up throughout any of our ringette and hockey training classes in a positive, and life affirming way!
Hockey is more than just our national sport; it is a safe place in which to learn life skills while gaining knowledge of a great sport – all while having fun!
Start early, with our ‘LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY FOR TOTS’, where parents join their aspiring young skater on the ice in this parent and child instructional skating program. This program is designed for children with little or no skating experience, introducing skaters to the ice, helping to gain confidence in the sport of skating!
