With school coming our way in a few short weeks, our National Hockey Training Centre in Langley is gearing up with ‘Back-to-Normal’ (but different) School Skating and Hockey Programs for the Whole Family!
Although there will be some slight adjustments to our programs in order to meet added health guidelines, our ‘new normal’ will feel a lot more familiar than previous months, and we know that both parents and kids alike are ready to re-familiarize themselves with the familiar.
So, what does our Langley skating and hockey program lineup looks like? Let us show you just some of the fun we have planned!
PRESCHOOL LEARN TO SKATE – Ages 2-5
Get the wee-ones started early with our mid-week preschool skating program in Langley, helping them to find their ‘skating legs’ in a positive and encouraging environment.
This will also give your child a head-start towards hockey, ringette or competitive skating in an enjoyable atmosphere, while also allowing parents to join their beginners on the ice until independence is obtained.
INTRODUCTION TO HOCKEY – Ages 3+
Our amazing Shawn Boone heads up this intro to hockey for those already familiar with the art of skating, helping your child combine their skating skills and puck control in a team environment, and moving up as they advance.
ICE STARS FOR GIRLS – AGES 7-11
Marcie Munro sets the stage for girls who currently play hockey or ringette, and would like to improve their skating skills. She will be teaching them how to implement a powerful stride and become a competitor with edge during these fun-filled sessions, which are sure to create memories while building skills.
SHOOT TO SCORE – AGES 8-11
Meet Robin Trainor, who is also – ironically – an actual trainer! He is here to help young athletes hone their hockey playing skills with accurate shooting abilities, building confident players that are in charge of the puck no matter what comes their way.
HIGH PERFORMANCE – 3-ON-3 HOCKEY
If you have been attending our HP Development Programs, then you are likely familiar with Ryan Carignan!
This fall he will be taking the developmental skills learned in previous programs, and giving your child the chance to display them during competitive yet fun 3-on-3 hockey games, with players of equal skill level and desire to play the great Canadian sport of hockey.
Please note: safety measures and guidelines will be in place for these games, as with all of the above mentions.
These are just SOME of the fall programs we have planned, more of which can be found HERE.
At NHTC, we understand that there is still a need to take everyone’s health into consideration as we move towards the fall season, and although this was always an important feature within our hockey arena in Langley, we are extra conscious about how we handle your health both on and off the ice.
We are here to ensure you and your kids can still have an amazing time, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
